DYNAmore Nordic sends our best wishes to Ph.D. candidate Håkan Andersson from Epiroc/Linköping University, who will defend his Ph.D. thesis work on March 25th. The title of his thesis is "A Co-Simulation Tool Applied to Hydraulic Percussion Units". The basis of Håkan's research is coupling LS-DYNA to a fluid systems code (HOPSAN) through an FMU interface. By doing this, the simulation behavior of the complete hydraulic systems becomes much more realistic. Throughout the thesis, Håkan adds more and more realism, such as more components and sealing gaps. The pinnacle of his research is in the last paper where Håkan uses the wear routines in LS-DYNA and the co-simulation approach to simulate the wear response in a percussion unit and compare it to experiments at different operating scenarios. Great job Håkan! The link to the thesis can be found in the comments! #dynamore #lsdyna #simulation #fea #cae #thesis
Vad roligt. Lycka till Håkan.
