Impact and Drop Tests in LS-DYNA

This course intends to give the participants basic knowledge of how to:

 

  • Pre-process a basic impact analysis.
  • Run the explicit solver in LS-DYNA.
  • Post-processing of normal responses.

 

Hence, after the course the user should be able to perform and evaluate an impact simulation using the standard features of LS-DYNA. The typical features used in LS-DYNA for performing this simulation are discussed in the course, e.g. different control cards, selected output, element formulations, standard material models, contact definitions, common boundary conditions and joining. The post-processing and validation of the simulation results are also discussed.

 

Pre-requisites:

 

  • Basic knowledge of LS-DYNA functionality/workflow.
  • Basic experience using LS-PrePost.
