Simulations of short fiber reinforced plastics – from injection molding to crash

To get accurate predictions of the material strengths for short fiber reinforced thermoplastics, one needs to account for the fiber orientations. The orientations will, in turn, depend on the manufacturing of the component, commonly through an injection molding process.

 

This webinar demonstrates how you could perform simulations from molding analysis to a load application, including calibrations of relevant material models.

 

The injection molding analyses are performed in Moldex3D. The results are then mapped to LS-DYNA material models using Envyo or utilized in combination with the advanced add-on material modelling software Digimat.
