Article in Lightweight-Design

"The Simulation Chain for Fibre-Reinforced Materials: From the Manufacturing Simulation to Durability Approximation", published in "lightweight design", issue 5/2013.

In a newly released issue 5/2013 of the magazin "lightweight design", a technical article written by DYNAmore engineers can be found (p. 12 - 17):

The Simulation Chain for Fibre-Reinforced Materials:
From the Manufacturing Simulation to Durability Approximation

Authors: Christian Liebold, Dr. Thomas Klöppel, Dr.-Ing. André Haufe (DYNAmore GmbH)

The article gives a good overview and a closer look into current developments in the field of the simulation of fiber reinforced plastic components. These new materials lead to new challenges along the entire CAX process chain which have to be understood and represented in the virtual world as well as in reality. Different methods and approaches for the steps during the composite manufacturing process are introduced and the required measurements towards a proper representation in finite-element analysis are described.
